The private suite, Cottonwood Crown is ideal and economical
for families or small groups and offers 2 floors and 1100 sq ft of space. There are flexible sleeping arrangements for up to 8, in 4 beds between the 2 bedrooms and the living room. The master bedroom is spacious and bright with high ceilings and a south facing window. It features a king size bed, a crib, roomy closet, and a bold, elegant style. The upstairs bedroom is the coziest room in the house, with both a double and queen sized bed, a big closet, an en-suite sink, and far-reaching views to the North and South.

The living room is both cozy and spacious with a very comfortable sofa bed (doors can be closed for privacy at night), a dining table that will seat up to 6, and a wonderful balcony overlooking the large and elegantly landscaped back garden.  There is a TV with full cable and a DVD player, a CD player, and telephone with free long distance calls. High speed wireless internet is also included.

The bathroom is spacious and charming with a shower and roomy clawfoot tub overlooking the garden. Fresh towels are provided.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, electric kettle, and a full selection of cooking and eating implements that will make you feel right at home. There is also a high chair available.

The garden in the back is extra large for the area and fully fenced in for privacy and safety for children. There is abundant outdoor seating on the back deck and on the garden patio, as well as a full size outdoor table for picnicking in the garden. There is even seating on top of the garden shed that enables one to look out over downtown Vancouver, which is particularly beautiful at night.

Cottonwood Gardens is located in Strathcona which is Vancouver's oldest residential neighborhood. This amazing and unique neighborhood has a sense of community that can't always be found even in a small town. An amazing example of this is that the neighbourhood was earmarked for demolition in the early 1950s as part of an urban renewal program. Strathcona would have been transformed into blocks of identical apartment buildings, but development was stopped by opposition from the community. Thanks to the strength of the community and their intense love for their neighborhood, Strathcona is still filled with late 19th and early 20th
century architecture which is a relative rarity in Vancouver. Walking through the neighborhood, you will see that many houses in Strathcona are designated heritage houses, and Cottonwood Gardens is no exception.

We are very fortunate to have all the best areas of Vancouver within walking
distance, while still being hidden away in the quaint historic neighborhood of
Strathcona. Cottonwood is just minutes from Chinatown, Commercial Drive, Main Street, and Downtown Vancouver. From cafés, sports and entertainment, to beaches and forests; it is all a walk away!

We live in the basement apartment and I am constantly amazed by our beautiful back garden and the friendliness of this amazing community. Not to mention all of the wonderful city amenities at our finger tips!
